To get the most out of Madden NFL, you must assume control of the action on the field. Relative to NFL Head Coach 09, Madden NFL is absolutely not and has never been designed for extended play in coach mode. I don't know for sure if this is still true, but I am under the strong impression that, among other deficiencies, while using Coach Mode in Madden NFL the user team's quarterback will never scramble.

I immediately noticed that Madden doesn't respect the players bulk/strength leading to a complete disrespect to formations, but that issue is something that EA said they have specifically made improvements on. Last Madden I played other than Madden 08's FF/FI mod (go get that mod!) and Madden 19 PC. Now obviously we're talking about lunchables vs Gordon Ramsey steak here, but does Madden 22's franchise mode compare to HC06 or HC09 in the slightest? How often do coaches get fired? Is it challenging? I'm gonna "coach mode" as an OC or offensive HC and slow sim the defense for some realism. NFL Head Coach 09 is a GM players dream come true in every way, except the games take like an hour and a half to complete, the graphics suck, and the camera angles suck.įinally caved, just bought Madden 22 PC. I personally prefer the 06 version because it's and x's and o's HC RPG and not a strategy, but it's so old it's abandonware now. To save myself the headache, I got into NFL Head Coach. After high school football the glaring holes in Madden got even more evident, and other factors like a video game simply can't do what I want it to do the exact way I want it done (like leveraging passes to one on one match ups), which leads to BS INTs. I've been playing Madden since I was a child, I'm only 23 now but that's 15 or so years of Madden experience.
